HOW TO USE THIS DIRECTORY

This directory lists health centers in Charleston County that serve teens and young adults. Find a health center in your area, and check to see if the service you need is listed in the description (such as Emergency Contraception or STD testing). Call the health center for an appointment. Ask if they will accept your insurance, and bring your insurance card with you. If you don’t have insurance or choose not to use it, ask the health center what you should bring in order to be eligible for a lower fee, if a lower fee is available. Medical providers may see youth under 16 for family planning services without parental consent, if they feel it is appropriate; however, they are not required to do so. Medical providers are listed in this directory because they let CCTPPC know that they are interested in serving youth who have family planning and other health needs. All medical providers listed in this directory will provide services to teens ages 16 and up without parental consent. Some providers listed may provide family planning services to persons under 16 without a parent or parental consent. If you are under 16, you may want to call the provider and ask if they will see you without a parent or parental consent. The Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) clinics will provide family planning services to persons of any age. Information listed was confi rmed with the health center prior to publication. If you have a bad experience at a health center listed in this directory, please let CCTPPC know by calling (843) 460-5033 or e-mailing TeenInfo@cctppc.org. If you are a medical provider and would like to be included in this directory, please contact CCTPPC as indicated above. This directory is funded through the South Carolina Contraceptive Access Campaign, a project of New Morning Foundation in partnership with Advocates for Youth.
